Our Story

We first met 20 years ago while working for a not-for-profit early intervention service. After years of experience in early childhood education, we stepped into these early intervention roles, keen and ready to take the next step in our careers.

We were excited and felt privileged to be out in the community providing support to vulnerable children and their families. With extensive training and on the job support, our roles took us to a broad range of early education services, schools and social services. We developed strong relationships with many children, families, educators, carers and social welfare professionals.

It wasn’t long before we started to see the challenges faced by educators, carers and social welfare professionals; some of which we had experienced ourselves in the early days of our careers in early childhood education:

  • With little to no specialised training or support, many professionals felt overwhelmed and ill-equipped to understand and support the diverse needs of the children in their care.

  • Many struggled to manage the expectations and emotional demands of the job.

  • Workplace stress, burnout and staff turnover was high.

Fast forward 20 years, with the added experience of having worked in child protection and social welfare as well as early intervention and, we are still seeing the same challenges. It was over lunch one day when we came to the realisation that we were both getting asked the same questions by the many professionals we encountered in our different roles in different regions.

  • Professionals asked if we offered training on how to support children with diverse needs, often wondering why we were achieving great outcomes with the children who challenged them the most.

This was a light bulb moment for us and in late 2023 we registered our business partnership and began creating and developing our first workshop – “You Can Help This Child?” It was a hit and landed exactly where it needed – providing educators, carers and social welfare professionals with the training, tools, resources and support they needed to identify and address developmental concerns and to communicate these concerns with families. The feedback for this workshop was overwhelmingly positive and it was heartwarming to see the participants confidence grow.

Our workshop topics have grown since then and will continue to grow to meet the needs and demands of this important sector.

The feedback we receive and the relationships we have with educators, carers and social welfare professionals continues to inform our business goals and activities.

Our mission is stronger than ever, and we look forward to creating even more opportunities for growth, connection and learning for many more years to come.

We are passionate and driven to continue to empower people who make a difference in the lives of children.
